Asante KotokoThe Democracy Cup began the only way it could — with Ghana's fiercest and most storied rivalry. Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko met at the Accra Sports Stadium to inaugurate Parliament's new national tradition, with the Porcupine Warriors winning 2–1 to lift the first trophy.
The maiden edition was part of the activities commemorating thirty years of parliamentary democracy in Ghana's Fourth Republic. In a special curtain raiser, a Parliament of Ghana XI took on a side of Ex Black Stars legends before the main event.

Great OlympicsThe 2nd Edition brought together two of the capital's proudest clubs — Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra Great Olympics — at the University of Ghana Stadium, after organisers confirmed a change of date and venue.
The Phobians claimed the trophy with a 1–0 victory, writing their name into the Hall of Champions.
